Preparation for the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation
Sacramental Preparation is a two-year program. Students must complete the minimum attendance requirements in Year One in order to be admitted to the Year 2 Class. Students are expected to attend 21 of the 28 scheduled classes in order to be considered prepared to advance to the next year. Therefore, students new to the parish must present a Letter of Attendance from their previous parish in order to be admitted to Year 2 Communion or Year 2 Confirmation. In addition, students must submit a copy of their Baptismal Certificate and all Registration Forms PRIOR to admission to the Year 1 and/or Year 2 Sacrament Classes.
Life Teen is a Catholic youth ministry program whose mission is to lead teens closer to Christ. This program ministers to teens in grades 9 through 12. It recognizes the gifts and talents of young people and realizes that they also are called to help build up the Body of Christ by sharing their gifts within the life of the parish. “Life Night” meetings are held on Sunday nights from 6:15 to 8:15 PM in the Parish Activity Center Hall. The teens participate in a variety of ministries at the 5:00 PM Sunday Life Teen Mass. The group also attends Diocesan events and retreats, and the National Catholic Youth Conference. Adults can also serve as core team members/mentors to witness to the Catholic Christian life. Susan Starr, Youth Minister, is the contact person for The Edge and Life Teen. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or 843-651-3737, ext. 228.
